NOW; THOUGH TOMORROW I WILL BE AWAY
Now; though tomorrow I will be away
There in a face sheltering otherwise
There along that sudden unreasoned
absent path
There, on the white wall
With the useless corner, where your
face is not
That is where I will go
Now however I stay
Plead your special skin with my ardent
eyes
Wish your dark lips
Wish your dark madcap hair
Eye your dark eyes
This is where I am: on you
This is where I wish to be:
Moving over the face of your deep
Now;
Though tomorrow I will be away.
St-Lambert, circa 1981.
